With the launch of the updated Primastar Nissan continues the collaboration with Alliance partner Renault and builds on the van’s already well documented strengths, but now with improved comfort and economy.

Refined design for better comfort

The New Primastar is more comfortable and practical than its predecessor. The dashboard has been redesigned to incorporate practical storage spaces and new features that are normally associated with passenger cars.

The novelties include an A4 document holder at the top of the centre console, a storage slot above the glovebox (on versions without passenger airbag), new centrally-positioned storage spaces, and more.

In addition, the New Primastar offers a wealth of features meant to improve the life onboard and the productivity of driver and passengers.

An automatic climate control is among the new equipment items. A new range of audio systems with MP3 CD playback offers a more clearly visible remote display, portable device connectivity and Bluetooth telephone connectivity with audio streaming. The steering wheel is enriched with cruise control and speed limiter.

The hood on the instrument panel has been redesigned to allow better legibility of the information display. The warning lights have been repositioned to improve visibility.

The customers can now choose among three different dashboard designs, a more functional one, an intermediate version and a richer one.

Improved economy

The 2.0 litre dCi version of New Primastar offers a significant reduction in fuel consumption and is now available with a diesel particulate filter.

On commercial versions of the New Primastar the fuel consumption of the 2.0 dCi 115hp engine is reduced by a relevant 0.8 litres/100km and CO2 emissions drop to 195g/km (with manual transmission).

The 2.0 dCi 90hp and 2.0 dCi 115hp engines are now available with a diesel particulate filter, with no associated fuel consumption penalty. The torque of the 90 horsepower unit – which is also B30 (30 percent biodiesel mix) capable – has been increased by 20Nm to 240 Nm at 1,500 rpm (260 Nm at 1,500 rpm in the version with DPF). The oil change interval is extended to 40,000 km or every two years.

“With the updated Primastar, Nissan offers its successful van with improved levels of comfort and lower emissions. Above all, we have reduced the fuel consumption with significant impact on the total cost of ownership,” said Sergio Alcaraz, Vice President Nissan LCV Business Unit Africa, Middle East, India and Europe. “We are confident that Primastar’s enhanced characteristics will continue to attract a large number of business customers,” concluded Alcaraz.
