Saab Automobile makes the headlines at this year’s Los Angles Auto Show by launching the 9-4X, its first crossover vehicle, and showing its 9-3 ePower, the prototype for a fleet of all-electric test vehicles.
Taking center stage and making its world debut, the purposeful 9-4X goes on sale in May next year and will give Saab access for the first time to the growing, mid-size luxury crossover segment. It offers comfort and versatility alongside car-like driving qualities and will provide a fresh, alternative choice for buyers in the segment.

Sharing the spotlight is Saab’s first EV, the Saab 9-3 ePower, the prototype for a test fleet of 70 vehicles which will participate in extensive field trials in Sweden next year. It is a full-sized wagon with a projected driving range of approximately 200 kilometers that pushes the boundaries of current EV performance.

Saab’s LA stand also features the full range of the newly-launched 9-5 sedan, now including a 220 hp, BioPower engine.

“We are now embarking on the biggest new product offensive in Saab’s history,” says Saab Automobile CEO Jan Åke Jonsson. “The 9-4X is the second new car we have introduced this year and it will significantly broaden the appeal of the Saab brand by giving us entry to the fast-growing crossover segment with a vehicle that is sporty and unmistakably a Saab.”

The Saab 9-4X will be unveiled Wednesday November 17 by Jan Åke Jonsson and Saab Automobile Chairman Victor Muller at a press conference on the Saab stand at 3.20 pm, South Hall Space 404.
