SEAT presented the IBE Concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the Spanish Brand clear vision of a super-compact sports coupé for the urban mobility of the near future. The first version of the SEAT IBE was already presented in Geneva; since then its design, technology and interior have been further developed.

Says James Muir President of SEAT, the IBE “shows the future design trend of SEAT cars and also the way we understand urban electro-mobility. The electric motor of this attractive and sport character model is powered by batteries entirely developed in Spain, giving the car an endurance of 130 km”.

With its short body length of only 3.83 meters, it is the ideal fit for the urban mobility of the young and young at heart. And the SEAT IBE combines perfectly its sports car character with innovative technology. The all-electric drive facilitates local zero-emissions driving fun, while the powerful motor with 75 kW (102 hp) and the low weight delivered by intelligent mixed-material construction guarantee refined performance.

SEAT Head of Design Luc Donckerwolke states that

“The IBE shows SEAT’s vision for a car of the future that is as emotional as it is ecologically responsible and affordable,”. “The IBE is a concentrated version of our design DNA. Both exterior and interior are characterised by their focus on key elements, by a clear and precise architecture, by modern technology and by materials that are as high-quality as they are ecological.”

“Zero-emissions mobility in urban areas is becoming increasingly important,” says Frank Bekemeier, Executive Vice-President for SEAT responsible for Research and Development (R&D). “This project is very important for Spain, for its technological development, its future perspectives and its industrial network,, this initiative is one of the most ambitious challenges faced by this country.”

The Spanish Brand also showed the New Alhambra, the family flag ship from SEAT. A large MPV with sliding doors and technology to enjoy. Bigger, better performance, lower fuel consumption and an intelligent seat folding concept.

Another important novelty was shown, which is the Exeo with 2.0 TDI CR 143HP diesel engine and multitronic automatic gearbox. The back seat space has been significantly improved for more space and higher comfort in the Exeo range.
