Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the launch of the freshened Mazda Familia Van for the Japanese market. The updated commercial vehicle offers enhanced versatility and goes on sale today at Mazda and Mazda Anfini dealerships throughout Japan.

To improve safety performance across the entire Familia Van range, a passenger-side airbag now comes as standard equipment to complement the driver-side airbag that was standard on the previous model. New features such as an electrical socket (100V/100W AC electrical outlet on the passenger-side instrument panel) and grab handles (he GX, LX and VX model grades have a grab handle on the front passenger side and both rear sides. The DX and VE model grades have a grab handle on the front passenger side only.) are also fitted as standard equipment to provide added convenience for customers.

Models powered by the 1.5-liter engine (front-wheel drive) and the 1.6-liter engine (four-wheel drive) qualify for a 75 percent reduction in taxes through Japan’s eco-car tax reduction program.
